Travelling In Hope: Rugby World Cup Day Eleven

30th September 2019

If Scotland want to go deep into this tournament, history is against them

DAY ELEVEN

Scotland got their campaign back on track today with a comfortable win over Samoa but if they want to go deep into the tournament, history is against them. Scotland have never gone past the quarter finals in an overseas World Cup. Their best showing by far was a semi-final appearance in 1991, played at Murrayfield.

DID YOU KNOW?

Scotland’s exports travel better than their rugby team. In the first quarter of 2019 Scotch whisky sales overseas totalled £1.14 billion; approximately 300 million bottles. During the same period, Scottish salmon exports were valued at £150 million.
