Anticipating a great language conference in New York
In a week’s time the Conversis team will be flying to New York, to attend GALA, a yearly international leading conference for the language industry hosted by the Globalization and Localization Association.
As part of the Conversis Medical team, I am very excited to be attending Gala New York 2016. It will be a great opportunity to meet the translation’s industry most influential decision-makers from all over the world and for us to share know-how and experiences. As we often come to know, we usually encounter the same difficulties and it is always interesting and helpful to see how others are dealing with them.
I am really looking forward to finding out about the latest ideas, technology and trends in our industry. I believe that nowadays the market needs for translations are constantly increasing: low cost flights around the world, the change of national borders and instant communication across the globe are shaping the way we interact every day with different cultures. Globalization is not only affecting and changing business models but also our everyday life.
Therefore, I would like to learn more about how translation and globalization can enhance our daily lives. I have already signed up for a workshop regarding “The Business Impact of an Executable Globalization Strategy”. In this presentation the globalisation phenomenon will be analysed from an executive prospective of doing business globally and the cultural limitation that this phenomenon implicitly brings. I am also keen on attending the workshop on “Creating and Evolving a Successful Globalization Organization”.
By attending these 2 seminars my aim is to learn more about other executives’ globalization journeys, building successful teams, overcoming obstacles and evolving technologies and efficiencies. I am sure that GALA New York will be an experience that will broaden my way of thinking and my business mentality. It would be amazing to share this experience with my team and I look forward to exploring New York too! (as this will be my first time in the Big Apple!)
